Symptoms
The video displayed on a TV connected to either the Transmitter or Receiver shows a screen of white noise or an indication message warning of a HDCP authentication error
Cause
The most likely cause is either the Provision units, HDMI source, Amplifier (if used) or one of the TVs failed HDCP authentication (the encryption standard that HDMI uses).
Solution
Unfortunately the HDCP is not the most robust or reliable of protocols, especially when there are multiple devices in the system.
On the occasions when authentication does fail the simplest way to resolve the issue is to unplug the HDMI cables, wait a bit and then plug them back in. Plugging the cables back in will cause to the devices to re-authenticate the HDCP where it will hopefully authenticate successfully.
