Recommended setting for Sky+ HD STB
Sky+ HD STBs come with numerous different settings. This page give recommendations of how to configure a Sky+ HD STB for optimal performance with the Provision HD Streamer.
Constant video resolution
It is recommended to configure the Sky+ HD STB to output a constant resolution rather than automatically use the resolution of the current channel being viewed. This will significantly reduce the time taken when switching between HD and SD channels of the Sky box. In addition setting to a fixed resolution will force the Sky+ HD box to up scale SD channels to HD.
To configure the output resolution of the Sky+ HD box:
- Navigate to: Services -> Settings -> Picture -> HD Resolution Output
- Select your preferred HD resolution, 720p or 1080i (recommended)
- Press select
- Press select again to confirm
- Press select again to confirm that the new resolution can be seen
- Press green to save the settings
Audio output format
Some Sky+ HD STBs allow the setting of HDMI Audio output format. The Provision HD streamer requires this setting to be set at NORMAL in order for Audio to be heard correctly at the receiver output.
To configure the audio output format of the Sky+ HD box:
- Navigate to: Services -> Settings -> Sound -> Digital Audio Output - HDMI
- Select NORMAL
- Press green to save the settings
